When you use RouteUp, we collect the following categories of information to operate, maintain, and improve our services:

a. Personal Information

• Name: Collected from your Google/Apple Account or manual profile creation to identify you to co-travellers when you host or join a ride.
• Email Address: Collected for authentication, account management, and critical service notifications.
• Phone Number: Collected for account verification, safety coordination, and allowing matched passengers to contact each other.
• User IDs (Firebase UID): Unique identifiers generated by Firebase Authentication to secure and manage your profile session.

b. Location Information

• Approximate Location: Used to display on the rides posted by nearby users or co-travellers, city hubs, and search suggestions.
• Precise Location (GPS): Required during active rides and route navigation to enable real-time ride tracking, calculate distance and route progress, and facilitate accurate pickup/drop coordinates between riders and drivers.

c. In-App Communications

• Other In-App Messages: Text messages exchanged between matched co-travellers in our in-app chat to coordinate pickup locations, travel schedules and ride-related details. Messages are securely stored on Google Firebase Firestore.
